Mary B. Pemberton, age 82 died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday the 25th of November 2009 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Originally from Far Hills, NJ, she moved to Devon in the early 1950s and then to Rosemont in 1964 where she lived until her death. Mary was a graduate of Emma Willard School in Troy, NY and Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Mary was a long time member of the Merion Cricket Club and a former member of the Mill Dam Club, where she enjoyed playing both tennis and paddle tennis. After her husband retired, she went to work at the Little House Shop starting when they were originally located in Suburban Square Ardmore, then Haverford and finally to Spread Eagle Village in Strafford. In addition to traveling quite a lot with her husband, many years of family vacations were enjoyed in Bay Head, NJ and Martha’s Vineyard. She was preceded in death by her parents Llda and Malcolm Belcher of Far Hills, NJ, a brother, Jim Belcher, her husband John C. Pemberton, Jr. and her son John C. Pemberton, III. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Murdoch and her husband Bill, Fran Tyler and her husband Jeff, Catsy Michell and her husband Rick and her daughter-in-law Rose Pemberton. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Sarah and Malcolm Quigley, John C. IV and Samantha Pemberton, eight step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a brother, Russell Belcher of Houston, TX.. Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, the 1st of December, 2009 at 3pm in St. David’s Episcopal Church Chapel. Donations may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church Wayne, PA or Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr, PA.
