Obituary:
William H. Crowley, Jr., born February 3, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA to Dr. William H. Crowley and Anna M. Place died Sunday, January 24th, 2010. Educated in the public schools of Philadelphia, “Bill” served proudly during the Second World War, receiving a Bronze Star, as a Technical Sergeant and head of the pharmacy department in the 108th Station Hospital. Bill retired from the Girard Coin Exchange Bank, later Carnegie Mellon, after 37 years where he served as Head of the International Division. Bill married Sally Van Horn, a faithful, loving, loyal wife and mother to their only son, Geoffrey William. He later married and survived Norma Heinke with no other children. He was a faithful, active, loyal member of the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, Wynne Wood, PA. for 40 years. His grandchildren will remember him as a gentle, kind, charitable, supportive grandfather who encouraged them in their successes. Bill lived and enjoyed a full life. He was respected and loved by his son Geoff, daughter-in-law Jessica and two grandchildren: Geoffrey, Jr. and Jackie. He was esteemed by his peers. He will be missed and not soon forgotten. His Funeral Service will be held on Thurs. Jan. 28th, 1pm in The Church of the Holy Apostles, 1020 Remington Rd., Wynnewood, PA 19096, where you are invited to call after 12 noon. Int. Valley Forge Gardens.
