Harold B. (Hal) Wheeler, 54, of New Hope PA died on Monday, January 25, 2010 of heart failure. Mr. Wheeler was a founder and managing partner of ARCWheeler and Wheeler Bros. Holdings. Mr. Wheeler was responsible for developing many prominent real estate projects in Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic region, among them the condominium 10 Rittenhouse on Rittenhouse Square and the restoration of the historically significant B & O Railroad headquarters building in Baltimore, MD. During the 1980’s Mr. Wheeler lived and worked in Washington DC as a restaurant owner and real estate developer and was very active in local political and civic affairs. He served on the Mayor’s Economic Advisory Council for the District of Columbia and was the founder of the Adams Morgan Day celebration which is a very popular Washington community celebration held annually attracting up to 250,000 people. Mr. Wheeler was also active with the United Way and served on the board of the Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia. Mr. Wheeler was a graduate of the George Washington University. He is survived by his companion Connie Williams, his mother and step father Elizabeth B. and Henry F. Michell of Hilton Head Island SC, 2 brothers William and Samuel, a step brother, Rick Michell and seven nephews.
His Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 29th, 2pm in Church of the Redeemer, corner or Pennswood and New Gulph Rds. Bryn Mawr, PA. Interment will be private in the Churchyard
