Frances was born in Wayne, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1935, the daughter of Charles Clyde Rich and Mary Alice (Paddock). She attended Radnor High School and the University of Pennsylvania and continued to live in the area throughout her life. She loved music, books, and New York City, and was a devout Christian Scientist. Frances was predeceased by her brothers, Stuart Paddock Rich and Anthony Schermerhorn Rich. Her survivors include her nephew, Stuart Paddock Rich, Jr of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and two neices, Katherine Russell Rich of New York, New York and Lucy Harrison of Clyde, North Carolina.
