Suzanne Kimball of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully (but unexpectedly) on Sunday, August 4th. Born on July 30th, 1944 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Eugene F. McClafferty and Leona Marie (Gehringer) McClafferty. She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, Hunter College, and received her MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work. Suzanne spent many years with her husband, Justin Kimball, in Old Greenwich, CT where she practiced social work and psychotherapy in both the public domain and in private practice. She was passionate about all living things, especially her many dogs, Orphie, Bijou, Sasha, Sophie, Annabelle, Kush, and Katie. When Suzanne and Justin moved to Gladwyne, Pennsylvania in 1996, she took the opportunity to embrace her many talents. She began writing, gardening, photographing, and painting. She spent hours each day cultivating her gardens, preparing them for the hummingbirds she grew to cherish. She would eventually publish articles in Bird Watching Magazine. Suzanne was a committed volunteer and avid member of many clubs and societies, including the Henry Foundation for Botanical Research, the Hummingbird Society, the Cornell Ornithological Society, the Newcomers Club, and the Boca Grande Club. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Justin H. Kimball; sister Joan (Joe) Caruso; brother Gene (Ginnie) McClafferty; son Karl (Jen) Seelaus; Stepsons Justin F. (Maura Glennon) Kimball, Alexander (Carolyn) Kimball, Douglas M. (Jaime Ginsberg) Kimball; stepdaughter Heather K. (Bob) Zullinger; Grandchildren Isaac, Ezra and Talia Seelaus; Zeke and Ellie Kimball; Luke, Rafe and Piper Kimball; Huck, Dutcher, Olive and Casey Kimball; Holly Z. (Peter) Costas, Kelly Z. (Sean) Robertson, and Audrey Zullinger. and many beloved nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 at the Radnor Hotel's Triple Crown venue, 593 E. Lancaster Avenue, St. David's, PA 19087.
