Dominick (Don) Pizzo, a beloved member of the Media, PA community, passed away on February 18, 2024, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, at the age of fifty-six. Born on December 12, 1967, at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, Dominick was the son of Carol Ann Larson and dearly loved by Stepfather Herbert O Larson (deceased). Don attended Havertown High School, where he developed a passion for baseball, a passion that would shape much of his life. A dedicated individual, Don excelled in his career in sales, while also devoting himself to his family and to nurturing the next generation of baseball players as an instructor and coach. While playing adult semi-professional baseball, his impact extended beyond the field. Don served as the President of Delco Men’s Senior Baseball League for 10 years and managed the Glen Mills Rays for 14 years, leaving an undeniable mark on the local baseball community. His commitment to baseball extended to his involvement in coaching and instructing youth through High School teams. Don is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Pizzo (DiGiovanni), his mother Carol Ann Larson, his children Michael Deshayes (Kim), Brandon DiGiovanni (Deceased), Brian DiGiovanni (Theresa), and Christina Pizzo, and his cherished grandchildren: Jax Deshayes, Camilla DiGiovanni, Luca DiGiovanni, and Alessio DiGiovanni. A funeral service will be held at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church, located at 4910 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, with receiving starting at 9 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment will take place at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, located at 1701 Market St, Linwood, PA 19061. Don will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passion for baseball and dedication to his family will be remembered fondly and his legacy will continue to inspire for years to come.
