Virginia S. Klepfer

Virginia Anne Snapp Klepfer, “Ginger,” from West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on December 17, 2017, surrounded by her children, at her daughter’s home in Bryn Mawr, PA. She was 82 years old. Ginger was born July 23, 1935 in Scranton, PA. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Elbert Snapp and Doris Wittich Snapp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Klepfer, “Bob,” and her sister, Nancy Carol Snapp. She was a graduate of Haverford Senior High School and the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women—now Temple University at Ambler. She was a homemaker and florist, specializing in wedding floral designs. She was a loving and devoted mother to: son, Douglas Franklin Klepfer (Sharon); daughters, Gail Suzanne Dewey (Ken) and Anne Louise Frick (Jef); and to seven grandchildren: Adam Klepfer, Christopher Dewey, Amanda Frick, Matthew Klepfer, Robert Dewey, Brendan Frick, Colin Frick. Ginger was also survived by her sister, Donna S. Hermann, nephew, Steven Hermann and niece, Stacey Fagan and their families. Ginger’s love of all God’s creations was evident in her commitment to serving others. She used her joyful singing and floral-arranging talents to enhance all aspects of her life and those of others. Along with her husband, Bob, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage, they raised three children and volunteered in all of their activities. She adored each of her seven grandchildren and proudly watched them grow to adulthood. She was a treasured friend and enjoyed entertaining. Rooted in her faith, Ginger was a member at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 69 years. She was a long-time choir member and had a special gift for decorating the church’s sanctuary at Christmas and Easter. Ginger was a dedicated hospice volunteer, a member of the DAR (Jeptha Abbott Chapter), enjoyed bridge, games and gardening. She relished the sunsets, family memories and water sports at her family’s summer cottage on the Chesapeake Bay in North East, MD. She enjoyed traveling and her summers at the shore in Stone Harbor, NJ. She was loved by so many and her legacy of compassion, service, strength, hospitality and most of all, love, will always be remembered. The family will receive guests on Saturday January 6th after 10am in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 415 E. Athens Ave. Ardmore PA, 19003, where a Celebration of Ginger’s life will begin at 11 am. Interment will be immediately follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
