David J. Dunkle
December 29, 1978 - March 22, 2021
David J. Dunkle of Ephrata, PA died on March 22, 2021 at Lancaster General at the age of 42. Dave was born on December 29, 1978 in Hagerstown, MD to Jeffrey and Ruth (Evangelista) Dunkle, who both survive. Dave was a man of quiet strength and grace, a keen observer and a lifelong learner. He was an encyclopedia of sports knowledge and a wealth of hidden talents - teaching himself to read Japanese and to play classical guitar. He was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College and was employed by Ephrata National Bank. On April 11, 2015 he married Tory Kline Dunkle. Through their almost 6 years of marriage, Dave was ever the loving, devoted and patient husband. He was always game for any spontaneous adventure or project Tory could scheme up. Dave's greatest joy in life was being dada to his sweet baby girl Anastasia. Though often cautious in new situations, Dave hit the ground running the moment he first held Anna in his arms. He loved her fiercely and was so proud of his smart, strong and brave girl. Dave is also survived by a brother, Timothy and wife Becky Dunkle of Manheim; a sister Rachel and husband Brandon Gehman of Elizabethtown and their children Zackery and Zoey. He is also survived by his in-laws James and Shana Minder of Lancaster and sister-in-law Tara Kline of Harrisburg. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 17th, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Redeemer, 230 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA, and live streamed at www.theredeemer.org. Masks and social distancing will be required. A private internment will follow.
