Elizabeth Cauffman Lash

February 21, 1935 - October 3, 2020

Elizabeth Cauffman Lash of Granite Farms Estates and formerly of Wynnewood, PA, died on Oct. 3rd, 2020. Betty was born in Allentown, PA to the late Paul Franklin Cauffman and Elizabeth Cornelia Hoffeditz. She graduated Shippensburg High School in 1953 and Shippensburg State College in 1957 with a B.S. in English, Mathematics and French. During her college summers, she was a ceramics and craft instructor at Camp Nawakwa, Arendtsville, PA, a Lutheran Leadership facility. Betty and Stark were married by the Rev. Harold Dunkleberger on a Saturday June 8, 1957 at 8:00 pm amid a color scheme of light green and orchid. Betty taught mathematics at Lewistown Junior High School, Lewistown, PA, from 1957 to 1961, then held the position of Parish Secretary in her home congregation of 850 members at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ardmore, PA, for 32 1/2 years before retiring on July 15, 1999. She served on the congregation council as chair of the Finance Committee and held membership in numerous other church committees and organizations. She sang in Penn's Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines, Inc., a Barbershop Chorus, for five years, and was a member of St. Paul's Women's Bowling Team for ten years, a was a member of Lower Merion Twp PA Community Watch. Some of Betty's hobbies included reading, genealogy, computer, philately, travel, sewing and puzzles. She was the beloved wife of Stark W. E. Lash and mother of Pamela L. Marlin; also survived by her brother, David Cauffman and sister, Carolyn Watson. The family will receive guests after 9:30 AM on Sat. Oct. 10th. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 415 E. Athens Ave., Ardmore, PA, where her Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the adjoining Churchyard. The Church will be limiting the number of guests in the Sanctuary to 25 at a time.
