Ernest P. Cupo Jr.

Our family is deeply saddened that Ernest Phillip Cupo Jr. of Villanova, passed away on April 4, 2017 following a short illness. He died peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Ernest was born in Nutley, NJ on June 3rd, 1928 to Ida Edna Cupo, (nee Michael) and Ernest P. Cupo, Sr. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years Lois Ann, (nee Kapteina.) He is survived by his sister, Virginia Gehrt, children Ernesto, Heather and William, and his 8 grandchildren, Maile, Althea, Lani, Louisa, Magdelena, Pearl, Bess and Kerith. He attended Fork Union Military Academy and earned a Bachelor of Science from Brooklyn College. He served in the US military during the Korean War and afterwards worked at General Electric Aerospace as a reliability engineer. Ernest valued good food, good music and hard work. He was well known for this wonderful sense of humor and generosity of spirit. He will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held on June 3rd at 11AM at the Chadwick and McKinney Funeral Home in Ardmore, where the family will receive guests after 10:30 AM. Contributions to the Fisher House (www.fisherhouse.org) can be made in lieu of flowers. A graveside service will be held on August 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany, NY.
