    Ronald G. Fraser

    March 26, 1932 - April 26, 2017

Ronald (Ron) Fraser, 85, died Wednesday, April 26, at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, PA. Beloved husband of the late Sophie Porter, and of the late Patricia (Patsy) Dodd, to whom he was married for 50 years, Ron was a loving father to Alison Fraser, Nina Muscato, Jenny Gregory, and Ian Fraser. Ron was the devoted grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. Born in St. Louis to Scottish parents, Ron spent his childhood in St. Louis, where he developed a lifelong love of the St. Louis Cardinals. Ron went to New York City to attend St. Bernard’s School, followed by St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire. While studying art history at Princeton University, Ron discovered a love of European travel, opera, and Renaissance art. After graduating, Ron served in the U.S. Army for two years in Germany. Upon his return, Ron attended Harvard Business School and moved into the advertising world. While working for Procter & Gamble for 13 years, Ron and his family lived in Canada, Belgium, and Italy. At Procter & Gamble, Ron honed his marketing skills, eventually working for the Weightman Group in Philadelphia and settling in Bryn Mawr with his family. In 1980, Ron made a mid-career change to pursue his life’s passion of teaching the Bible, first by bringing Executive Ministries,an evangelical outreach program, to New York City.Eventually, Executive Ministries moved to Palm Beach, Florida, where Ron and Patsy lived for 18 years. The Frasers lived out their final years back in Bryn Mawr, where Ron continued to teach the Bible biweekly. He gave a message just this past Easter Sunday. Ron will always be remembered for his love of the opera, the St. Louis Cardinals, crossword puzzles, and a good joke. More than anything, he will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his deep faith. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr (601 N.Ithan Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010) at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beaumont Staff Scholarship Fund (601 N. Ithan Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010) or the American Bible Society (101 N. Independence Mall East, 8th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19106, or https://donate.americanbible.org).
