Cynthia “Cindy” Clark (nee DILWORTH), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Her legacy will live on through those she left behind, including her devoted husband Gene, her children Patrick, Caitlin (Sweeney), Kelsey, and Hayley, and son-in-law Colin Sweeney. Cindy's love and devotion to her family extended to her grandchildren Riley, Chase, Ava, and Evan, all of whom she adored. Cindy was also deeply cherished by her sister Alicia (Dilworth) Mignogna (Anthony Mignogna), brother Timothy Dilworth (Kyle Dilworth), over a dozen sisters and brothers-in-law, and 18 nieces and nephews. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, to Erwin "Bud" and Joan Dilworth, Cindy was a proud 1976 graduate of Radnor High School, where she met the love of her life, Eugene "Gene" Clark. The two were married in 1982, beginning a life full of love and adventure. Throughout their marriage, Cindy and Gene lived in Bryn Mawr, Collegeville, and Royersford, Pennsylvania, where they made lifelong friends and created a strong sense of community. Cindy’s greatest purpose in life was to nurture and care for her family. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she poured her heart into raising them, offering unconditional love, guidance, and unwavering support. Her nurturing spirit made her the best daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend anyone could ask for. Cindy’s selfless devotion to those she loved resonated on so many levels. She was a reliable voice of reason, always listened without judgement, and managed to find positivity in everyone and everything. Her mere presence uplifted those around her—whether with a belly laugh or a comforting word, she could wipe away a tear and brighten even the darkest of moments. Cindy was well-known for her infectious spirit and the epic parties and gatherings she hosted for every occasion. Whether it was a birthday, holiday, or just a reason to celebrate, Cindy always found a way to bring family and friends together. If you knew Cindy, chances are you’ve attended one of her unforgettable events, and even more likely, you’ve shared at least one lemon drop shot with her to mark the occasion. These celebrations were just one of the many ways Cindy brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of those around her. It was no secret that there was another man in Cindy’s life. It was love at first sight in 1975 when Cindy first saw Bruce Springsteen. Her infectious enthusiasm for Bruce and the E Street Band led her to share this passion with everyone around her. Alongside her sister Alicia, Gene, and countless family and friends, Cindy attended hundreds of concerts in a variety of venues. Anyone who had the privilege of experiencing, firsthand, Cindy’s magical connection with Springsteen’s music could see how deeply it resonated with her. Her devotion wasn’t just to the music—it was to the very spirit of the man and his band, a bond that transcended mere fandom and became a part of her very soul. Cindy was a natural athlete, effortlessly excelling in every sport she tried. Whether it was softball, volleyball, or horseback riding, she was always the one to beat at Camp Tegawitha. Her athleticism didn't stop there. At Radnor, Cindy dominated the tennis court, honing her skills year after year, always striving to be better. But it wasn't just about winning for her—it was about the thrill of competition and the joy of improving her game, no matter the sport. Growing up on Meadowood Road, Cindy’s childhood was marked by endless outdoor challenges with the neighborhood kids, as they faced off against their rivals, “The Creek Creatures.” Whether it was playing games or practicing her casting technique with her dad in the backyard before a fishing trip, Cindy was always active, always striving to be the best. And when she wasn't on the field or in the yard, you could find her engaging in a game of backgammon with friends or a round of Go Fish with her grandchildren. Cindy’s competitive spirit didn’t end with childhood games. She carried that energy into her love for Philadelphia sports teams, where her heart was always with the Eagles—especially after watching their Super Bowl win, aptly coinciding with her birthday last week! But when it came to the Phillies, well, let’s just say her affection was... a bit more complicated. Regardless of the team, Cindy was always passionately invested in the game, her love for sports never wavering. Cindy’s family and friends were in awe of her grace and determination as she faced health challenges over the past few years. Despite numerous setbacks, Cindy never wavered. She continued to plan for the next milestone, defying medical predictions at every turn. Countless family and friends fiercely participated in these events, inspired by Cindy’s determination until the end. Her resilience and unwavering spirit earned her the well-deserved title of "Bad Ass," a testament to her strength and unrelenting will to live life on her own terms. Cindy’s impact on her family, friends, and all who knew her will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a spirit that will continue to inspire generations. We take solace in Springsteen’s lyrics that Cindy sang with conviction, and we will indeed someday meet her in, “The Land of Hope and Dreams.” Friends and family are invited to call beginning at 1pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at The General Warren Inn, 9 Old Lancaster Rd, Malvern, Pennsylvania 19355. A celebration of life will begin at 2pm.
