Ever since we opened our doors we have approached life (and death) differently. While some just see the end of a loved one’s life as a time for grief and mourning, we prefer to think of it as a time for reflection, appreciation and even celebration. This is evident in everything we do, from the way we conduct our services to the amenities we choose to offer. We are not a burial ground. We are a close knit community dedicated to honoring, sharing and preserving the amazing and inspirational stories that are life.

We spend our days planning with families. We stay up to date with industry developments. And we make hard times a little easier.

Our firm was originally founded by the cabinet maker Joseph T. Pearce, in the mid 1800’s and carried on by his son, Josiah S. Pearce, who was also President of the Merion Title and Trust Co. Josiah sold the firm in 1903 to his intern, William P. Frankenfield, who ran the business until his retirement in 1947. Martin Chadwick purchased the business and operated it until his death, at which time his son, Raymond Chadwick took over. Raymond Chadwick operated the family business under the premise of fair, conscientious service, and a true commitment to excellence in the funeral profession.
That same commitment and values are carried on by Rodger McKinney who started working in the funeral business at a young age. When Rodger was 8, his father died, and this left Rodger with a lot of questions as to what happened to his father from the hospital to the funeral home, and just how the whole funeral was arranged. So, at the age of 14 Rodger approached his neighbor, who was the funeral director, and asked if he could help out in some capacity. Rodger thoroughly enjoyed helping families in his close knit small town. After Mortuary School , Rodger came to Chadwick's to serve his internship which developed into a partnership with Ray Chadwick in 1994 and carries on today.

Rodger F. McKinney
Owner/Supervisor
Rodger McKinney, Owner/Supervisor Rodger F. McKinney graduated Middletown Area High School with the class of 1981. He went on to graduate Northampton College of Funeral Service of Bethleham, PA in 1984. He is married to Lauren Hurtubise McKinney and they have two children, Courtney who attends Episcopal Academy, and Andrew who attends Penn Valley Elementary School. Rodger and his family have been members of the Church of the Redeemer since 1985. He is also a Member of St. Andrew's Society, Sons of the Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, Bryn Mawr Rotary Club, and Cassia-Mt. Horeb Lodge #273 F&AM. He was a previous Board Member of the American Red Cross-Main Line Chapter and Ardmore Business Association and is presently a Board Member of the Dolphins of Delaware Valley. Rodger grew up in Middletown , PA and lives in Ardmore. His hobbies include antique cars, cooking, and gardening, encouraging his children in their sports, fishing, the outdoors, and working on his Arts and Crafts home in the Poconos.
Lauren Hurtubise McKinney

Lauren Hurtubise McKinney is Vice President of the Corporation. She graduated from Agnes Irwin School in 1975 and received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College in 1979. She also attended Pennsylvania State University for Elementary Education where she received her Master's degree in Special Education in 1981.
Lauren grew up in Haverford , PA. She and Rodger reside in Ardmore with their two children Courtney and Andrew. Lauren has worked along side her husband in the funeral business for several years. She has been a life long member of the Church of the Redeemer and has been in the Church Choir, a Sunday School teacher, helped to start the Mingles Young Adult Group with her husband, and was past leader of Newcomers.
She spends her time currently raising her two children and working in the funeral home with various responsibilities. Lauren likes to read, watch her children play sports, travel, go antiquing with Rodger, spend time with friends and family, work out at Curves and go to the beach and Poconos.
