History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

Our firm was originally founded by the cabinet maker Joseph T. Pearce, in the mid 1800’s and carried on by his son, Josiah S. Pearce, who was also President of the Merion Title and Trust Co. Josiah sold the firm in 1903 to his intern, William P. Frankenfield, who ran the business until his retirement in 1947. Martin Chadwick purchased the business and operated it until his death, at which time his son, Raymond Chadwick took over. Raymond Chadwick operated the family business under the premise of fair, conscientious service, and a true commitment to excellence in the funeral profession.

That same commitment and values are carried on by Rodger McKinney who started working in the funeral business at a young age. When Rodger was 8, his father died, and this left Rodger with a lot of questions as to what happened to his father from the hospital to the funeral home, and just how the whole funeral was arranged. So, at the age of 14 Rodger approached his neighbor, who was the funeral director, and asked if he could help out in some capacity. Rodger thoroughly enjoyed helping families in his close nit small town. After Mortuary School , Rodger came to Chadwick's to serve his internship which developed into a partnership with Ray Chadwick in 1994 and carries on today.

Mission & Vision

To serve those who call upon us with the same care, sensitivity and attention to detail as we would want for our own family.
